1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Resume Hedgehog (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Resume Hedgehog ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Resume Hedgehog is an AI-powered resume tailoring service. The Service allows you to:

  • Upload or paste your resume content
  • Paste job offer descriptions
  • Receive AI-generated tailored resumes optimized for specific job applications
  • Answer AI-generated questions to improve resume customization
  • Download tailored resumes in various formats

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Consent to Third-Party AI Processing

By using the Service, you explicitly acknowledge and consent to the following:

  • Your resume content (including personal and professional information such as your name, work history, education, and skills) will be sent to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) for processing.
  • Job offer descriptions you provide will be sent to the third-party AI provider for analysis.
  • Your answers to AI-generated questions will be sent to the third-party AI provider for processing.
  • The third-party AI provider will use this data to generate tailored resumes and responses on our behalf.

This data transfer is essential for the core functionality of the Service. The third-party AI provider processes data according to their own privacy policy and our data processing agreements. We transmit data via encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) but cannot guarantee how the third-party provider handles data beyond our contractual agreements.

If you do not consent to this data transfer, you must not use the Service.

6. Credits, Points, and Payments

The Service operates on a credit-based system:

  • New users receive a signup bonus of free credits.
  • Credits are consumed when using AI-powered features (resume generation, question answering).
  • Additional credits can be earned through sharing, engagement, or referrals, or purchased via Stripe.
  • Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection laws.
  • We reserve the right to change credit pricing and amounts at any time.
  • Credits are valid for one (1) year from the date they are earned or purchased. Unused credits expire after this period.

Points and Referral Program: The Service may offer a points system for actions and a referral program that rewards users with credits for inviting others. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the points system and/or the referral program at any time, at the sole discretion of the operator, without prior notice.

Anti-Abuse: The operator reserves the right to review user accounts for compliance with the intended purpose, goals, and limitations of the credit, points, and referral systems. If a user is found to have circumvented, manipulated, or abused these systems (including but not limited to creating fake accounts, automated referrals, or exploiting technical loopholes), the operator may deduct improperly gained credits or points from the user's account, and/or suspend or permanently block the user's account.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By purchasing credits, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

7. User Content and Data

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the Service (resumes, job descriptions, answers). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content for the purpose of providing the Service, including transmitting it to third-party AI providers as described in Section 5.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right to provide all content you submit
  • Your content does not infringe the rights of any third party
  • Your resume content is truthful and accurate

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Use the Service to generate resumes containing fabricated credentials, fake degrees, or false employment history
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without permission
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the credit system

9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate tailored resumes. While we strive to produce high-quality, accurate results:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate suggestions.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before using it in job applications.
  • We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in job interviews or employment.
  • The Service is a tool to assist you, not a replacement for your own judgment and review.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and features, is the intellectual property of Resume Hedgehog. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Resume Hedgehog and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via the Profile page. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Resume Hedgehog regarding your use of the Service.
